Ship Management

Ship Management

Kaen Shipping provides hands-on ship management with direct involvement in the technical, operational and commercial performance of the vessels under our responsibility.

Our management philosophy is based on practical maritime experience, close ship-to-shore communication and timely decision-making. We combine the experience of former Masters, Chief Engineers and shore-based shipping professionals to ensure that vessels are operated safely, efficiently and in accordance with applicable international standards.

We believe that effective ship management requires continuous attention to safety, vessel condition, regulatory compliance, crew performance, operational reliability and cost control.

Technical Management

Our technical management activities are focused on maintaining vessel reliability, operational readiness and long-term asset value.

We closely monitor planned maintenance, machinery performance, repairs, spare parts, technical supplies, class requirements, statutory certification and dry-docking programmes.

Technical decisions are evaluated not only from a maintenance perspective, but also with consideration for safety, vessel availability, commercial commitments and overall operating cost.

Safety & Compliance

Safe operation remains at the centre of our management approach. We maintain close oversight of vessel compliance with applicable international regulations, flag requirements, class requirements and company safety procedures.

Our objective is to support Masters and crews with clear procedures, effective communication and timely shore assistance, while promoting a strong safety culture throughout the fleet.

We place particular emphasis on navigation safety, operational discipline, risk assessment, pollution prevention and the protection of crew, vessel, cargo and the marine environment.

Crew Management

We consider competent and motivated seafarers essential to safe and efficient vessel operation.

Our management team maintains close communication with Masters, Chief Engineers and crew members and monitors onboard performance, training requirements, certification and operational standards.

We aim to maintain professional shipboard teams capable of operating our vessels safely, efficiently and responsibly under demanding trading conditions.

Commercial & Operational Management

Technical reliability and commercial performance are closely connected. For this reason, our management structure maintains direct communication between commercial, operations and technical departments.

Voyage planning, cargo operations, port calls, bunker consumption, off-hire exposure, maintenance requirements and charter-party obligations are evaluated together in order to achieve efficient and reliable vessel performance.

This integrated approach enables us to respond quickly to operational developments while protecting both the vessel's condition and its commercial interests.

Dry Docking & Repairs

Kaen Shipping plans and coordinates dry-docking, repair and maintenance projects through close cooperation with shipyards, workshops, class surveyors, suppliers and service providers.

Our technical team follows projects from initial specification and budgeting through attendance, repair supervision and final completion. Our objective is to achieve the required technical standard while maintaining close control over quality, time and cost.

Our Management Principle

We believe in direct responsibility. Each vessel requires continuous attention and management decisions should be taken by people who understand both the technical realities on board and the commercial consequences ashore.

Our goal is simple: safe vessels, reliable operations, controlled costs and sustainable commercial performance.
